Creating Headlines that Get Results

By Pinky Arnisola

When it comes to content, the reason you're writing or the kind of content you're writing won't matter much at all if you aren't able to write an effective headline that will draw the attention of your target market.

Your headline needs to be a great opener, because it's the first thing your prospects/readers will read.

When you use the right words not only will you attract the attention of an audience that's looking for what you have to offer but also the audience that's most likely to buy what it is that you're selling. It's really easy to create a headline that draws in the attention of your readers, especially when you're exactly sure of your purpose. The headlines in your articles should need to really get the attention of the people you've written the article to reach.

Write headlines that are in contradiction to conventional wisdom. Most audiences have a hard time resisting headlines that stir up debate.

You should never run the risk of mystifying your potential customer. You should be able to sum up the point of your copy in the least amount of words as possible in your headline, but still make your point clear. The necessary component to success is dedication and the ability to take the necessary amount of time needed to produce quality copy; if you are a little new, you need to give it sufficient time. Getting these points in order will give you better odds with your prospective readers and making your copy understandable.

There is more to writing great headlines than artistic writing ability, and that would be knowledge and experience. If working hard does not scare or bother you, then that is a huge plus because it is not there for so many others. The amount of study can be quite extensive in our view, but that is only because we have spent so much time studying and learning. You can find a tremendous amount of information on the web that is devoted to headline writing.
