Great Tips On Following Email Etiquette

By James Anderson

Email etiquette seems to have been forgotten nowadays with all the things we need to do everyday and the fact that we always seem to need more time. However, we need to take the time to look at our manners and make our lives and the ones of the people surrounding us more pleasant by just following some simple email etiquette rules. It is a matter of manners and etiquette to write an email that has a polite tone and expresses everything we want to in a clear and concise way.

For instance, when composing the subject line, you must never write a paragraph, a long sentence or even leave the space empty as this is not going to make a very good impression. The subject line ought to be very short and express the main idea of the email in some words. Spelling and grammar can also be a very significant aspect that must be taken into account when writing an email. Because of the fact that we always seem to be in a rush, we don't value composing rules and about how the text looks.

When writing an email, using complete words and nice phrases without any abbreviations will make an excellent impression on the receiver of the email. After composing the written text of the email, you can upload any files you think that are necessary, but try to make it as neat as you possibly can. Therefore the name of the attachment must be short and its size must be sufficiently small so that the receiver of the email is able to open it without issues.

Many of us enjoy personalizing everything including the emails they send, but this is not always the best option. Even though the stationary looks nice with all the margins decorated and the background colored, it might make it harder for the receivers to read the text and it may not look as good on their screens as it does on ours. It is better to send a standard email where you write black on white everything you have to say.

Just to be sure the email is composed right, you have to write the subject line having in mind the purpose of the email. After that, you need to write a polite opening and continue writing in a polite tone. This is available for following telephone etiquette too, as you always need to have a polite tone. Also, you should say everything you have to say in a medium-sized text and write without abbreviations.
